What A Load Of Old Balls (Part Three)

Last updated : 03 November 2005 By Thetashkentterror
At approximately 3pm on Sunday afternoon United fans will hopefully be on tenterhooks again as they await the number TWELVE ball to appear during the draw for the FA Cup second round.

First though come Cheltenham in less than 48 hours time but a repeat of the Cumbrians 3-2 League win at Whaddon Road back in mid-September would see the Blues just one round away from a potential glamour tie.

Getting to the third round stage would see United earn £40,000 in prize money even before they have a chance of gaining a moneyspinning tie against a Premiership team, so a good Cup run would be handy for the club in more ways than one.

The draw for the second round will be made shortly after the Chasetown v Oldham first round tie which kicks off at 1.10pm live on the BBC. The balls will be pulled from what looks like a plastic goldfish bowl by World Cup winner Martin Peters and 1965 FA Cup winner with Liverpool Ian St John.
