The FA Cup
Following the disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Grimsby yesterday the Blues will face the Terriers in the next round of the FA Cup providing they can defeat the Mariners at Blundell Park in the Round One replay. Huddersfield themselves claming their place in Round Two following a 3-2 victory at Accrington Stanley where, after being 2-1 down on 82 minutes, Town fought back to win with two goals in the last eight minutes from Malvin Kamara and Luke Beckett.

If United can win at Grimsby then the omens could be good for a victory at the Galpharm Stadium at the next stage despite Carlisle only ever winning twice at Huddersfield in 19 attempts. That's because one of those successes came this season and the other came in the 1972-73 FA Cup, so the chance is there to do both of those again in one fell swoop.

In the 70's FA Cup encounter a first-half own goal by the Terriers at Leeds Road settled a tightly contested third round replay after the two teams had earlier drawn 2-2 at Brunton Park. Carlisle making it to the last sixteen that season before they lost out 2-1 at home at Arsenal in front of a bumper attendance of 24,000.
