Vipond linked up with the Reds on an initial one-month spell in mid-August which was extended to two months in September and then extended to a further third and final month this week. The 19-year old has started nine games and made two substitute appearances so far in his spell at Borough Park, Shaun having also bagged a brace in last night's 4-2 home win over Gateshead as he got on the scoresheet for the first time at Borough Park.

The Hexham-born midfielder commenting to the News and Star on his stay with the Reds :

"There are a couple of good youth players at Carlisle, and if they want to play first-team football, it would definitely benefit them at Workington. It's benefited me. Darren (Edmondson) has been really, really good with me, the standard is good and I've enjoyed the buzz on a Saturday or Tuesday night.

"Obviously I've been getting more and more fitness as the season has gone on. I always knew that it would take a while. Now I am back to full fitness and feel that I am doing well."
