James Krause*
Bury St. Edmunds-born defender Krause links up with the Cumbrians mainly as cover for Zigor Aranalde and Peter Murphy who are both sitting one match away from serving a suspension on four yellow cards apiece. The 19-year old having been recommended to United boss Neil McDonald by Colin Suggett who is the chief scout at Brunton Park, Suggett having held the same position at Portman Road before making the move up to Cumbria in the summer.

Krause has been unable to break into the first team ranks with the Tractor Boys, his only appearance in the Town sixteen coming as an unused substitute in Ipswich's final game of the 2005-06 season, a 2-1 defeat at home to Plymouth Argyle. The youngster is being tipped as a possible successor at left-back to veteran Spaniard Aranalde though, with the loan move, which runs until late January, having the possibility of being made permanent if Krause impresses at Brunton Park.

The teenager was a member of the FA Youth Cup winning side at Portman Road in 2005 and a signed a professional contract with the Suffolk outfit in the summer of 2006. Krause has recently been on trial at Brunton Park and his performances in training have obviously impressed the Blues coaching staff enough to take the plunge and take the left-back on loan over the Christmas period, how many matches he will be involved in though remains to be seen.
