Yannick Salem
Salem, who flew into the country just this morning from Paris, started his career with Chateauroux in their reserve CFA side as a teenager in 2000 where he played 31 games and scored one goal before moving to Creteil in the summer of 2001 where he featured at the same level of the footballing system in France, netting 24 goals in 59 games, before again changing clubs in the close season of 2003.

The Amiens-born frontman now plying his trade with then Ligue 2 outfit Grenoble Foot, Salem only playing 11 goalless games for GF38 though before the suitcases were out once more. This time it was off to the Netherlands and then second division side De Graafschap in the summer of 2005, where he scored three times in 23 games for the Super Farmers.

Again, there wasn't much time for decorating in the flat however as he moved clubs in the Eerste Divisie to AGOVV Apeldoorn in May 2006 after just one season with De Graafschap. Salem stayed with The Blues for two years, but only made seven goalless appearances, and midway through that period in Apeldoorn he had an unsuccessful trial with Nottingham Forest.

His tour of the Low Countries continued in 2008-09 when he joined Belgian side Beveren in May 2008, his 12-month spell at the Freethiel Stadium taking in just 11 appearances, with one goal scored, before Germany and Eintracht Trier were up next in the summer of 2009. Salem signing a two-year deal with another side nicknamed The Blues, Trier playing in the Regionalliga West, which is the fourth tier of German football.

Only 15 appearances were made by the 27-year old last season for his club though, with four goals scored, the second year of his contract with the Luxembourg-bordering club being cancelled by mutual consent during this summer. Internationally meanwhile Salem has been called up to the Republic of Congo squad a couple of times over the last 12 months but he has yet to receive a cap for the Red Devils.
