Robinson joined the Selhurst Park outfit at the age of 14 and made his first-team debut for the Eagles as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 win at Preston in March of this year. The youngster, who has featured both wide on the right and in attack for the Palace youth and reserve sides, going on to make six appearances off the bench in total last season.

Like many people though he has failed to see eye-to-eye with Eagles boss Neil Warnock, especially after his efforts on the social networking site Facebook. Robinson's comments that he was about to go on trial with Premier League outfit Fulham meaning that the Palace manager withdrew his offer of a professional contract to the 18-year old and subsequently released him last month.

Warnock commenting : "We feel it's probably better that he looks elsewhere to further his career". That following Robinson, nicknamed Motor Mouth by friends, putting up facebook quotes of "Ashley-Paul is goin fulham on monday. If i pull dis off im on dis ting. Ashley-Paul is travling 2 Bath With Fulham Fingers Crossed."

Aside from the off-field entertainment Robinson seems to be a talented individual as far as football is concerned but he seems to be losing his way in the game. Most recently he has spent a week on trial at Hereford, where he has featured in a couple of Bulls pre-season friendlies under the pseudonym Dave Carter, but despite seemingly impressing it looks like he has failed to earn a contract at Edgar Street.

Meanwhile, speaking to the Hereford United website BullsNews last week,  Robinson commented :

"I was at Palace but not getting what I wanted so when the opportunity came to try at Fulham, I took the chance. I think they liked what they saw but said I needed to find a club that would give me the opportunity to get some real playing experience.

"I arrived in Hereford to play against Bristol City not having even trained with the team. I'm probably only 70% fit at the moment so there's a lot more to come from me than was seen in that game.

"I'd like to stay and train here for this week and hope to get another chance to show what I can do in the next game. Although there is interest from a few other clubs, Hereford is my main focus at the moment as I need to get settled and get down to work. I'm officially unattached right now and need to get my future sorted."
