Of the quartet, 19-year old Burnley centre-half Kevin Long lasted the longest having been with Carlisle for two weeks. The Irish defender having been down in Leicestershire for United's pre-season training camp, while also playing the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win at Darlington and the 1-1 draw at Falkirk earlier this week.

Spanish duo Jose Maria Cases Edgar Chumillas Lopez meanwhile only joined the club on Monday, and featured in just one match. That being the 1-0 behind closed doors win away to a Middlesbrough reserve side on Thursday, Cases playing the whole game while Chumillas Lopez made way for first-year YTS midfielder Josh Todd on 86 minutes.

Finally comes David Hutton, who appeared on the scene on Monday as well, the former Spurs and Cheltenham Town midfielder coming on as a substitute for Ryan Bowman on the hour mark in that Middlesbrough game. Hutton also getting in the final 21 minutes of the Falkirk game the day before, Hutton entering the fray in place of Tom Taiwo during that match.
