In what could perhaps be the most surprising new deal of the close season the Lanark-born targetman will now remain with the Blues until the summer of 2014, with a further option of 12 months after that inked into the deal. MIller having been widely expected by large amounts of the club fanbase to move on at the end of his previous contract, but it would seem that in the end there was only Motherwell who came in with any form of serious offer.

Since joining Carlisle in August 2011 from Middlesbrough the 30-year old has had a mixed two years with a couple of long-term injuries sitting alongside some excellent performances in the side. MIller having so far scored 24 goals in 60 appearances, while also spending long periods on the sideline with groin and ankle injuries.
