Last updated : 28 May 2013 By Thetashkentterror

The 28-year old signed for the Blues on a permanent deal, following a successful month long loan spell from Bolton Wanderers, in January 2005 and has gone on to make over 325 appearances for the Cumbrians, while scoring 20 goals in the process. Livesey's 12-month contract offer being activated by an appearanced based clause in his last Carlisle deal.

His new contract has then been finalised and signed off today, meaning that the Salford-born defender will now remain at Brunton Park until the end of the 2013-14 campaign. With fellow centre-half Peter Murphy being released at the end of last season that means that Livesey is now the longest serving player at United, with ten years service just 18 months away now.
