"Everyone at the club wishes to thank both players for all their efforts and wishes them all the very best in the future," said manager Nick Holmes. McGregor , who joined City last summer having previously played in Ireland for Cobh Ramblers, scored two goals in his twenty-four league and cup appearances.

With star strikers Paul Sales, Matt Tubbs and Robbie Matthews ahead of him in the pecking order, it was always going to be difficult for the popular Irishman to force his way into City's starting eleven. He netted from the spot kick in the FA Cup tie at VT FC and also in the away win in the league at Cambridge City. He came off the bench in both of City's televised FA Cup ties with Nottingham Forest.

Haddow made more than seventy appearances for the Whites, who he joined in November 2005 after initially impressing during a loan spell from Eastleigh. Now an established member of the England Futsal team, Haddow may have only scored nine times for the Whites but many of his goals were memorable ones.

He netted inside 40 seconds of the previous season's FA Trophy match against Newport County and grabbed the all-important winner that defeated then Conference National outfit Canvey Island in a later round of the competition.

Alex joined Carlisle on a free transfer from Reading on the 20th of August 2001 and showed himself to be a lively enthusiastic midfielder. Unfortunately after playing just four games for United he suffered cruciate ligament damage during the game against Darlington away on the 8th of September 2001. Alex then being released at the end of the 2001-02 season after missing the remainder of the campaign due to that injury.
