Glennon has signed a two-year deal today at the West Yorkshire club which keeps him under contract at the Galpharm Stadium until the summer of 2008. The 6'2 keeper ended his second spell with United in July 2005, after turning down a contract offer to stay at Carlisle, the deal offered by Blues boss Paul Simpson being less than Glennon had been on in the Roddy Collins managerial era.

In late July 2005 Glennon fixed himself up with a new contract and went up to Scotland to ply his trade for newly-promoted Falkirk in the Scottish Premier League. Things didn't go well at the Falkirk Stadium for Glennon though and he made only 23 starts for the Bairns before leaving in the January transfer window to drop down a division and join St Johnstone on a deal running until the end of the season.

Glennon made 12 starts between the sticks for the Saints at McDiarmid Park but again rejected a contract offer and looked for a new club at the end of the season. Looking for an experience goalkeeper, after releasing the veteran Phil Senior in the summer, Huddersfield manager Peter Jackson saw his chance to grab Glennon and, after much rumour that he would sign for the Terriers, that nove came this morning as Matt signed a two-year deal at the Galpharm.

The 27-year old still lives in Carlisle with his young family but is now house-hunting in the Huddersfield area, and he seems to be very happy with the move, commenting to the Town club website : " There were a few other Clubs interested, but for me, this was the perfect place to come. It's a fantastic move for me. Huddersfield is a big Club and I know a lot of players who have played here and they say it is a fantastic place. Even though he didn't need to, Peter (Jackson) did a great job selling it to me. His ambition for the Club is massive and hopefully I can be a part of it. "
