Mick Galloway
The 32-year-old was said to have lost his appetite for the senior game and recently managed non-league Northbank. But Cowden boss Brian Welsh said: "He has rediscovered his passion for the game and agreed to join us. Mick is an excellent footballer and has a fantastic range of passing. He has vast experience at a good level."

Galloway played for Notts County, Gillingham, Chesterfield, Carlisle United, Hereford, Gretna, Stirling Albion, Workington and Eastwood Town. His arrival at Central Park will go some way to compensating Welsh's side for the loss of the versatile Gary Fusco. The 24-year-old has joined Second Division rivals Brechin City at the end of his contract.

Mick was actually on the books at Brunton Park for almost three seasons after signing for United on a free transfer from Chesterfield in November 2000. Galloway spent lengthy loan spells at both Gretna and Hereford though and only made 33 appearances, plus six as a used substitute while scoring one goal in Carlisle colours before being released in the summer of 2003.
