Dunfermline midfielder Kevin Harper has been banned from driving for four months and fined £300 at Dumfries Sheriff Court for speeding on the M74. The former Scotland Under-21 player admitted driving at speeds of up to 105mph near Lockerbie.

Harper, now living in Uddingston, committed the offence in January. The right-winger started his career at Hibs but joined Dunfermline in the summer after spells with Portsmouth, Derby, Stoke and Carlisle United.

The 31-year-old had a successful temporary spell with Carlisle in the 2006-07 season where he made eight appearances for the Brunton Park side. However on his return to the Britannia Stadium in January, after suffering from a calf problem at United, he found his chances in the Potters team limited.
