Pat Fenlon has made his first signing as the new Derry City manager when he snapped up former Shelbourne defender Dave Rogers. The Liverpool-born Rogers, who made 29 starts for the Cumbrians during the 2001-02 season, has signed a two-year deal at the Brandywell and Fenlon is happy with his new acquisition.

"He has played at a high standard in Holland and Scotland and a real quality player," said Fenlon. "The good thing is that Dave can play anywhere across the back four." Fenlon also said that Rogers would be good for team morale. "Dave is also great in the dressing room. He's a good talker, so I'm delighted to get him."
