The 24-year old former Newcastle United, Oldham Athletic and Doncaster Rovers stopper was all set to join the Blues last year until former manager Neil McDonald blocked the move in the summer of 2007. The highly-rated Collin, who has been with the Reds for four years, has also been linked with SPL outfit Hibs recently, but Workington boss Darren Edmondson explained to BBC Radio Cumbria the current situation regarding the goakeeper :

" I informed Carlisle again this season about Adam's form and the fact that they had been changing goalkeepers a lot. I just put it to Greg (Abbott) and I knew that they were aware of his ability previously. I just said that he had matured again this season and his game has come on a lot and for them to come back down and have a look.

" They have liked what they have seen and we have got an arrangement where Adam will train on a Monday morning and a Thursday morning for the next few weeks into January, a bit further on if he does well. So really it is in Adam's hands, they are keen to have a look at him and they are quietly confident that he can actually fill the void that they have got there in their squad.

" He has got everything in his locker, he is a great size for a goalkeeper now, he has got good hands, he can throw it a mile, he kicks it well. His communication has come on a lot this season, or in the last eight or ten months, and I think that that was a stumbling block behind him probably progressing. He has matured a lot more in this last year though and that part of his game has improved a lot, he is not far off now being a really top class keeper. "
