The 20-year old can play upfront or on either flank and his signing on a temporary spell boosts the options upfront for the Blues, with manager John Ward hoping that the pace of Myrie-Williams will add a different dimension to Carlisle's group of strikers. The Lambeth-born flyer going straight into the squad for United's home game against Leeds on Saturday.

Myrie-Williams came through the academy ranks at Ashton Gate before making his City senior debut on the last day of the 2005-06 season in a 1-0 defeat at Southend. That coming only a few weeks after he played the first-half of an England under-18 2-1 friendly win against Slovenia on the 17th of April 2006 at Bournemouth's Fitness First Stadium.

In his time at Bristol City Myrie-Williams has made 19 starts and 17 substitute appearances, with two goals on the way. His last game for the Robins though coming as far back as the 11th of April 2007 after finding his first-team chances limited due to City's promotion to, and subsequent excellent form in the Championship.

At the start of the 2007-08 season Myrie-Williams spent the first three months of the campaign on loan at Cheltenham, the Londoner spending eight weeks of that temporary spell at Whaddon Road under the tutelage of John Ward, before Ward left to become the new manager at Carlisle United. The striker making a total of eight starts, five substitute appearances and scoring one goal in his time in Gloucestershire.

Another loan spell then followed, this time again in League One at Tranmere from late November 2007, in a temporary spell that was extended from one month to two months, and then from two months to the end of the season. That spell at Prenton Park seeing Myrie-Williams start 22 games, be a used substitute four times and score three goals.

The 20-year old was back at Whaddon Road at the start of this season though for a one-month loan spell where he made five starts and earned a man-of-the-match award for Cheltenham in a 2-0 home win over Swindon in which he scored the second goal of the game.

Myrie-Williams is at Brunton Park though now that his second stint in Gloucestershire has ended, with John Ward saying that he had asked City boss Gary Johnson for a longer deal, only for Johnson to turn that down. The pacey frontman is out of contract at Ashton Gate at the end of this season however, so it remains to be seen what will happen in the future from the perspective of the player and both clubs.
