After joining Morecambe, the club Carlisle signed him from in the summer of 2007, on loan on the 11th of November for a month, Carlton has started all five of the games that the Shrimps have played, Danny though having scored no goals in those matches.

Only three goals having been forthcoming in his 51 appearances to date for the Cumbrians, with Blues boss Greg Abbott commenting to BBC Radio Cumbria on the extension of the 24-year old's loan spell :

"Danny (Carlton) has done OK, they are pleased with him at Morecambe so he is going to get more games and more first-team games which again is better for me to have him playing than not playing."

Meanwhile Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy said to the official Shrimps website :

"This is good news for us because although Danny hasn't scored yet he has played well and has certainly improved his all round game since joining Carlisle. I am sure the goals will soon come for him.''
