The 25-year old winger scooping six and a half awards on a thoroughly enjoyable awards evening. Taylor taking the News and Star player of the season award, the BBC Radio Cumbria player of the season award, the London Branch player of the season trophy, the CUFC Online player of the season award, the Peter Jackson the Jeweller Man of the Match player of the season trophy and the Carlisle United players player of the season award.

Taylor only partly losing out in the Scottish and Newcastle Fans player of the season award, in which both he and Peter Murphy finished level on the same number of votes. Murphy's fellow Irishman Graham Kavanagh then nicking in at the last to take the Carlisle United fans goal of the season award, which was voted for on the night.

Kavanagh and midfield team-mate Paul Thirlwell coming into the reckoning late on with their strikes against Millwall in the 2-0 win at Brunton Park on Saturday. Kavanagh, with 101 votes, pipping Thirlwell into second, on 54 votes, ahead of the other seven goal contenders from earlier in the season.

The other two trophies available at first-team level were taken by Michael Bridges and Ben Williams. Bridges' late equaliser at Yeovil in March winning the London Branch Brunton Blues Champagne Moment, while Williams was presented with the Carlisle United away player of the season award by Tommy Coleman.

In the youth ranks 18-year old centre-half and skipper Tom Aldred won the trophy for youth player of the season and 17-year old right-back Simon Lakeland grabbed the award as most improved youth player. Aldred and Lakeland now looking to kick on next year as they join the professional rank of players at Brunton Park.
