Brittain Not Great For Cumbrians

The Cramlington-born right-winger joined the Cumbrians earlier this month and made just one start and one substitute appearance this season, but caretaker manager Greg Abbott has opted against renewing his 30-day contract.

"He has done well since he joined us, but we are looking for players who are going to improve us," Abbott told the club's official website.

"I feel he would have become a squad player and that is not what we require at this time. The squad has strength in depth and what we want now are players who are going to add to the team or put real pressure on the players who are already in there. We are looking for players who will bring something a little bit different to what we already have."
