United left-back Zigor Aranalde spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Friday as he talked about returning to his old club Walsall to start the new League One season tomorrow :

" Obviously I am very much looking forward to it, but the same as always, just concentrate on training towards the first game. I think everybody is on their toes and hopefully it will be a good game for us. Of course I played for Walsall for almost five years, it is like going home again.

" I had a great time at Walsall, more ups than downs. We got promoted, three years in the Championship, very good memories. Now I am playing for Carlisle though, there are no friends when you go on the pitch. We'll go for the win that's for sure.

" It's difficult to judge things in pre-season, the only thing you can judge in pre-season is how fit the team is and how hard the job has been. About the games, we won I think half of them, we played good games, not so good sometimes but the workout has been very, very good.

" The team should be quite fit enough for the first game, obviously we won't be as fit as we will be in a couple of months but that is how it should be anyway. I think everybody is prepared, we don't know what will happen on Saturday but everybody is ready for it.

" Thinking about what we can do this season, we had a great season last year so I think my opinion, and the first thing we should be thinking, is to establish ourselves in the top half of the division. Anyone in the top ten will have chances to get promoted until February or March or maybe more so that should be our aim. Just to establish in the top ten and then from there build up and who knows what can happen.

" I don't think it will be realistic or not good to say at this point today that we will be promoted or in the first two. I don't like that, I like to come here every day, work as hard as we can and then from there just build up. We have to establish ourselves in the top ten and then from there build up. "
