Saddlers manager Chris Hutchings spoke to his club's official website and the Express and Star about his side's 2-2 draw at home to Carlisle, Hutchings disappointed with the times of the goals Walsall conceded :

"It was obviously disappointing to concede at the end of each half, but we will learn from it, move on and look forward to the next game. You want your players to show confidence, but it's knowing the right areas of the pitch to play in at times. The wrong area was late on in the first-half when we conceded and you've got to know when to play and where to play.

"Jamie Vincent played inside, then Dwayne Mattis tried to play a square ball in the middle of the park which has got cut out, so the boy (Matty Robson) has gone in and finished it well. We should be doing better than that a couple of minutes before half-time, we should be getting it and just turning them really.

"We went in front and scored a decent goal but it wasn't a classic by any means. What goes around comes around. It feels like it's two points dropped because we conceded so late on, maybe if they'd have scored halfway in the half we might feel a little bit different.

"We were lucky enough to get the three points on Tuesday night, scoring so late on, and Huddersfield may have felt the same way. Perhaps a draw was a fair result. You've got to defend for 90 minutes, but we didn't lose and hopefully it will be the start of another unbeaten run for us. The conditions didn't help today, but we showed more urgency and quality after the break.

"The only thing we can be pleased about is that we got a point out of it. In the second-half we created a few chances when we went 2-1 up and should have put it to bed. I'm disappointed with the goal that we conceded. It's a pity we didn't get three points because we'd be another three or four places up the league, but let's hope it's the start of another run."

Meanwhile Walsall winger Steve Jones also spoke to his club's official website and the Express and Star about the game, Jones talking about his goal that made the score 2-1 to the Saddlers on 74 minutes :

"It felt like a loss today, it felt like the Leeds game all over again because we conceded a late goal. It was a great shot by Troy Deeney and I thought it was going in, but it came off the inside of the post and fortunately fell straight to me to make it 2-1. At that stage I thought the three points were ours, but unfortunately it was not to be and the lads were disappointed at the end.

"I came on for a minute in the previous game, but there's no better way to make an impact than to come on and score, so hopefully I'll be starting the next game. I've left it for a couple of weeks to see how things have settled but hopefully I can get my chance.

"Only the manager (Chris Hutchings) knows, but he said 'well done' at the end so that's a good sign. You're always frustrated being on the bench for three or four games. You're dying to get on and you can't prove what you can do in a minute so I was glad to get 20 and to score. It's difficult being on the bench but I think I've done well in reserve games, so all I can do is keep playing well and knocking on the door.

"The older you get the more you hate it, you just want to be out there playing. I haven't got long left in my career, three or four years, so I want to play every game. Pace is part of my game and I knew the left-back Ian Harte hadn't got much so I was just itching to get on and get the ball. The older you get the more you weigh the game up. I'm looking to do coaching when I retire.

"The team is gelling together well and it bodes well for the future. The key is consistency; the table is still so close at the moment and we want to give the supporters something to cheer about. We travel to MK Dons on Saturday knowing that it will be tough, as all games are in this League, but also determined to extend our unbeaten run."
