United flyer Kevin Gall spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his opinion on the 3-1 win over Leyton Orient in which he scored a brace and missed a penalty. Gall talking about the quality that Michael Bridges brings to the team, and how well the lads defended in the game :

" The boys did really well today and I think it was a great performance by the lads from front to back, Westy (Keiren Westwood) made a couple of great saves for us so it's good to get three points. It's put the defeat at Yeovil in the background now, we were disappointed to come away with nothing last week, and we were disappointed because I thought we were the better team. We've worked hard all week, and for the game today, we've gone out there and we were quite easily the better side really.

" I think a lot of people thought that Carlisle coming up into this league probably wouldn't do as well as people thought, but I think we are proving people wrong and we're actually proving to people now that we can hold our own in this league. I don't have to tell people how good Bridgey (Michael Bridges) is, people can see that themselves and obviously I thank him for making two goals for me. I thought Karl (Hawley) played really well again today, there is nothing I can say about Bridgey to thank him though because he's a great player, he's setting up goals for the team and he's doing his job.

" I'm not really a penalty taker to be honest, I've never really classed myself as one, but Bridgey actually told me to take it for my hat-trick. I caught it quite nicely but the keeper just guessed right and it was a nice height for him, there is no point dwelling on that though, I've just got to get on with it, look forward to Tuesday night and try and get on the scoresheet again.

" It was like a little bit of a makeshift back four, David (Raven) playing centre-back, Arni (Paul Arnison) came on and did another great job – he's fighting for his place in the team and he's proving every time that he plays that he should be playing. It was great defending, I think we kept them quiet though rather than them not actually creating anything, and that was important for us.

" I'm not as happy as I should be because I missed the penalty and then they got a goal back, I think if that I had scored the penalty then the game would have been dead and probably would have won 4-0 or 5-0. It's just getting on with it now though, I'll put behind the game behind me and get on with it and get ready for Tuesday night. "
