Tim Krul
New United loan signing Tim Krul spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria on Friday evening about making a one-month loan move to Carlisle from Newcastle today, Krul also talking about his career so far :

" I first heard of some interest four days ago, I was away with the under-21s of Holland and my goalkeeping coach (Paul Barron) rang me that there was interest, and we took it from there. It didn't take me long to make my mind up to come for this month as it is good for me to get experience. It is really close to Newcastle as well so all the aspects were there for me.

" I played with Den Haag and then at 17 I came over to Newcastle, they signed me on a three-year deal. This is my fourth season now, I signed a new deal last year with them. The under-21 European Championships was really a great experience, we played England in the semi-finals and I think it was 14-13 on penalties that we beat them, so it was an amazing experience for me.

" First-team experience is the best for a young goalkeeper like me, Falkirk last season was a great opportunity like Carlisle at the moment. I played 26 games there and it made me a much better goalkeeper. I got sent off with two minutes to go at Kilmarnock, somebody (Frazer Wright) flew with two legs in a bad tackle on me and I reacted on that, that was like me, crazy Dutch.

" There are a couple of the lads at Carlisle who are living near Newcastle, Michael Bridges, I spoke to them today so maybe we can take the car together. I heard the banter this morning, it was especially new for me, they are crazy lads but they are really good. I don't think that I can play in the FA Cup, I think that it is normal for loan players that they are not playing cup games I think, so I think that I am not going to play in those games.

" I was 18 when I played against Palermo, to play in a UEFA Cup game for Newcastle is your dream of course. I was only a year playing for Newcastle and I had the opportunity to play that game. I have it said it many times but it was an unbelievable experience for me. We won 1-0 in Italy against Palermo, they were top of the league at that time so it was a great experience. It was an amazing night for me and hopefully I can do the same for Carlisle this month. "
