Shrimpers boss Steve Tilson talked to the official Southend website about his team's 1-0 defeat at home to Carlisle this afternoon, Tilson bemoaning one lapse in concentration which he felt cost his side the game :

"We had enough chances to have got a result. I felt we were excellent during the first half, but playing well for 45 minutes doesn't win you games. We were not clinical enough to have got something out the game and that is disappointing, especially as we were the home side.

"It is the first time this season that we have failed to score in a game, which is a real shame. It's another reminder about the need to take your chances in front of goal. I said at half-time that we had played well, but we need to carry it over because sometimes it can come back to bite you, which it has.

"A lapse in concentration at the back has cost us. Once Carlisle scored, for the rest of the game we are chasing it. Carlisle are a decent side though and that is why they are now top of the league. I'm obviously disappointed to lose, but now we need to bounce back at Northampton next weekend."
