Southampton's Dean Hammond
Saints skipper Dean Hammond spoke to his club's official website after Southampton's 3-2 defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Hammond saying the Saints conceded three sloppy goals in the match :

" I think we definitely deserved at least a point today. I know we conceded three goals and sloppy ones at that too, but overall from the game I thought that we deserved more from the game than what we got. But we haven't, so we look forward from here now to the Peterborough game.

" It's a team game and it's something we've got to work on. We've conceded goals from set pieces and that's not really like us, we're a big team and that shouldn't happen. We haven't taken our chances in the first half so we should have got more from the game, we've come away from home and wanted to get something from it, but we take the positives from the game, we're still in a decent position in the league, and there's a long way to go.

" Changing formation wasn't difficult at all. It worked in training and I thought we were comfortable. We had a game plan and a system. We knew what the gaffer (Nigel Adkins) wanted us to do, and we did it at times today, probably dominated the game a bit more, but they took their chances.

" It's one of those things today. We've been on a good run and won four games in a row before today so if we do that for the rest of the season then we'll be ok. We'll analyse the game this week and see where we've gone wrong and get prepared for Peterborough and believe me we'll be firing on all cylinders for that match. "

" We take it one game at a time, obviously Peterborough are next, they're above us in the league and they're a team that we need to beat as they are around us so we'll have a full week's training to prepare ourselves for that one. We enjoy playing at home, we know it's a big game and it's our next one so we're looking to that now.

" Before the game we're just concentrating on trying to win a game. The preparation was right and we had a shape that we believed was going to work and it did at times, but the game's gone now, luckily some teams around us lost, but it's tight and there's a long way to go, so we need to make sure that as a team we're ready for Saturday.

"If we want to do anything this season the home form needs to be good. Since the gaffer's come in we've been fantastic at home and we've won four or five games, so we're flying at home and long may that continue.

" Peterborough are a good team, they're probably one of the favourites to go up and they score a lot of goals. I don't think their away form is too good and with our home form means that it's one to look forward to, but we won't underestimate them as they will be a tough test for us. "
