United midfielder Simon Hackney spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his thoughts on the disappointing 2-0 defeat at home to Scunthorpe United :

" We were beaten by a better side, they worked hard, they were more organised and they played the game very well, they didn't let us play to be honest. You've just got to hold your hands up and say that we were beaten by the better team. The goals were mistakes from us to be honest and we will learn from that, they have stuck both of their goals away quite well though. It was just the better team that won on the day, it really was.

" You could see straight away when we went into the changing rooms that the lads are very disappointed, that's just a natural reaction. It's a fact that it is gone now though and we've just got to learn from our mistakes today, although it wasn't just mistakes because they were the better team. We've just got to strive on now for the next game and get a result, that's all we can do.

" I still think we've done very well this season and we've played some good football, for me today was the only time that we have not played really well at home. You're going to have games like that though, you're not going to play fluently well every game, that's just the natural gift of football basically. We've just got to strive on for the next one.

" All we can do is try and do a job on the pitch, we don't mean to make mistakes, we are obviously aiming to do well. Games like that happen though and we can't win them all. I'm sure the lads will be looking forward to the next game at Swansea though because we need a win. "
