United left-winger Simon Hackney spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his thoughts on his brace in the 5-0 home win over Rushden and Diamonds :

" I’m just delighted and I’ve got Karl Hawley to thank for the two goals to be honest. He’s laid me off twice and I’ve managed to catch the first one really sweet and then the second one I took a touch and drove it in the bottom corner.

" It was a great overall performance from the boys, we’re just flying. I was in two minds on the second one whether or not to hit it first time again but I managed to take a touch the second time and then put in the bottom corner.

" The actual character around the ground is great, even in the changing rooms it’s fantastic. We all plug in and we all just want to do well, I’m chuffed to bits for the guys, they’ve really worked hard and hopefully there will be a few more to come along.

" You just have to be patient for a starting place and I’ve just got to be patient. It’s his (Paul Simpson) decisions what he wants to do and I’ve got to respect that so I’ll just wait for my chance again and hopefully get another one. "
