Grays midfielder Sam Sloma spoke to BBC Radio Essex about finally going out of the FA Cup at the hands of Carlisle United, Sloma bemoaning the big chance that he missed to equalise early in the second-half :

" Again we played well, so many times this season we have had chances to win, I had chances to score which usually I am quite comfortable in those situations. I am disappointed at the end of the game, it is a big disappointment. The chance in the second-half, it was one of those that was there, it sat up nicely and I just didn't hit the target.

" I tell the young lads when we are doing shooting practice, target, target, target, because if you miss the target then you are never going to score, but if you hit the target then you have got a chance. So that is why I am most disappointed.

" They are obviously a League One side and they put a great ball in and it was a good finish that punished us. We were a little bit disappointed with that, they only had one shot in the first-half. In the second-half we had that great chance to go to 1-1, and then it is a different game. So it is always ifs, buts and maybes in football and that is why we have got to keep going and keep working and hopefully it will turn out good for us.

" We had Ash (Jon Ashton) up front as well, he did a great job for us causing a problem. We created a lot of chances, Ishmael (Welsh) was dangerous getting crosses in. We had shots from a few people, Barry (Cogan) made some great runs. It is the way that it is going for us, we are just not getting the breaks and unfortunately that is football people will tell you down there.

" I still feel that the ball wasn't necessarily not sticking upfront but Ash was winning a lot and causing problems. It stuck today more than it has done in the previous games. We put the ball in behind, I remember that Giero (Rob Gier) put in a good couple of balls for us and we got around the back. So sometimes you have got to mix it up a little bit, you can't just play football all the time, especially they had some big boys at the back and they were decent, so disappointed.

" The gaffer (Wayne Burnett) has just said that it is now up to us to reproduce that level of work-rate and that level of performance. That is definitely what we have got to do, we have got to show the same desire. Because if this club goes down it is a massive disappointment for everyone. It is massive for the players and the fans, relegation is such a big disappointment.

" It is something that takes a little while to get over so we have got to get out of our little league rut as soon as possible and kick on. We are good enough to do it and we have got to make our own luck and work hard, if we work as hard as we can in every game then we shouldn't have a problem. "
