Yeovil boss Russell Slade spoke exclusively to Yeovil Town's official website about the match against the Blues on Saturday afternoon. Slade talking about a first win of the season for his new team, and how some of his young players performed individually during the match :

"I always think that on that first week of the season that the third game takes it's toll on the players, and I think by the end of the 90 minutes there were a lot of tired bodies on both sides. But certainly, a happy set of bodies on my side having recorded our first result, our first win, and I'm absolutely delighted with that.

"As the game transpired it was a very open affair. There were lots of chances. I thought that our creation of chances, which was lacking on Tuesday was there to be seen today, and I thought that if we'd shown a little more composure we could maybe have gone on and got a third goal and made life a lot easier than it turned out in those last five minutes.

"I was delighted for young Ishmael Welsh who had his debut today. Some may consider it a gamble, but he's young and he's enthusiastic. He's got that pace to go past people, and perhaps that was something that was lacking in the make up of the side. In the first period he terrorised the full back at times, and he was a constant threat. Having said that, I think the overall performance of Chris Cohen today was exceptional. I was very pleased with his overall contribution. He can't take a corner for toffee, but his contribution over 90 minutes was excellent.

"I don't like us as open as that at the back. They still had windows of opportunity as I would call them. Even in the second half there were two or three little chances that might have got them something out of the game. And I feel that the amount of chances we created at home today we should be putting teams to bed like that.

"To be three games into the season and to have won one and drawn two, I'm delighted with that, but there is so much more work that we have to do in most departments, so I've got plenty to get stuck into. On another day, with a little bit more, he (Wayne Gray) is going to be getting goals for us in games like this.

"I thought that we created chances throughout the game. We were more resilient in the second half, but there were still times when I think that we caused our own problems by giving away corners or giving the ball away in the wrong area which can sometimes lift the opposition. And they're the things that we have got to deal with and not encourage the opposition. It's being professional isn't it - We have to be more professional when we're in front."
