Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore spoke to his club's official website after his side's 3-0 win over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Moore understandably picking out the performance of Rovers hat-trick frontman Andy Robinson:

"It has been a lucky ground for me to be fair, I have had a few results here but it was a fantastic performance. It is hard to take individuals but Robbo was just unbelievable, I mean the two free-kicks, I was screaming at him for the third one not to hit it, it was miles out but it has flown in, but he has done very well in pre-season as well to be fair to him.

"It was absolutely fantastic, the two free-kicks were superb so I am pleased for him because he has earnt that. He is 32 and he has got great ability, he keeps the ball for us, he looks after it, he is very, very professional in his outlook, he is a winner and it is nice that he can come here and get himself a hat-trick.

"He is fantastic with the younger players, at half-time if they are not doing it and he is not doing it then he likes to have a little bawl and a shout and a scream. But, he is the model pro for me, especially in and around young kids, and we have got young lads out there, young legs, (Joe) Thompson, (Abdulai) Bell-Baggie has come on and shown with his pace what he can do.

"So, we have got a small squad but there is a nice little atmosphere amongst them and they are together. We have got no bad eggs in there so they are a bunch of lads who will give their all, and we will go to places and be competitive, and we can ask for no more. There is bags more to come from Thompson, I thought (James) Wallace was immense as well today, some of the tackles on him were unbelievable, they were cynical, one of them really should have got sent off I thought.

"The one where the 21 (James Berrett) has come right through him, that was malicious, he knew what he was doing there, I think they were all booked, all the tackles on him. So, he led by example but it is not a night for individuals really, it was a good team performance but the only thing now is that we have got to go and do it again on Saturday. You just don't know what is round the corner though, we have just got to keep our feet on the ground, we have done nothing, but we have got a decent set of players."

"The big thing was to get a clean sheet and that was the pleasing thing for me because it has been a long time coming and they have thrown a lot at us, we knew they would in the second-half but everything that has gone in there we have dealt with, the two centre-halves (Ben Gibson and Ash Taylor) have been magnificent in the second-half when we needed it, the keeper (Owain Fon Williams) has done well and come and taken crosses.

"We were just praying for the clean sheet but I don't thnk you can come to Carlisle and have all the game, we knew sooner or later that things were going to happen. This is the second time a team has played against us and had to change, on Saturday Leyton Orient changed from a diamond in there and had 4-4-2, these have done it tonight and changed it early on.

"But, overall it is nothing yet, but it is a fantastic atmosphere around us. All the squad want to play because we are playing so well, we are playing some decent football as well, it is not kick and rush or whatever, if it has got to go then it will go. We are not taking chances and I think with the two midfield players in there they have got good engines and good ability.

But, I just think it was counter-attacking as well, we have got a bit of pace in the side now and we have been clinical in and around the box. So, it is a good start but it is only a start, it is three wins now but it breeds a little bit of confidence. We have got another real hard game to come now on Saturday at Shrewsbury. All we can do is play our games, I don't know what we are going to get on Saturday but if we play like we did today then they will know they have been in a game, if we take our foot off the pedal we will get beat.

"We set our stall out and we aren't going anywhere to defend, we have got enough in the side, enough ability, to take it to teams. Defensively, although we didn't defend particularly well pre-season young Gibson has come in there and tightened us up a bit and I thought Ash was immense for the ten minutes where we knew they were going to throw the kitchen sink at us. He has won nearly every first header and that has put us on the front foot. If we had been a bit more clinical then it could have been 5-0 or 6-0. It could have been embarrassing in the end because we counter-attacked them and really came back instead of going forward."
