MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo commented to the assembled press about his side's 3-1 win at home to Carlisle today, Di Matteo suggesting that his players stuck to their gameplan :

" We conceded an early goal but even though we did I was quite confident that we weren't going to lose today. Because I saw a reaction in my players and I knew today wasn't a bad day for us, it wasn't going to be a bad day. We don't like to draw, we just go for the whole plot, either we lose or we win.

" There is some difference between League Two and League One of course, you are going to find better players in this league. They are quicker, more mobile, and they are cleverer as well, so there is a difference.

" Carlisle could have made it 2-0 but that's football, that is what we sometimes regret, that we don't take the chances that we have. That happens, and I think that Willy Gueret did a great save there, and luckily for us we were back into the game at half-time, which was very important. We were quite confident at half-time that in the second-half we could win the game.

" I haven't seen a replay of the penalty yet, I can't comment on it because I haven't seen it, so it is difficult for me to make a judgement. I haven't had the time to look at the table or do anything after the game because I have just been talking to the media.

"It is important the crowd doesn't get on your back and for the players to keep calm. We just have to be patient sometimes because we know teams come here to play 4-5-1. The players showed a great reaction to that and I still felt confident after we conceded because I saw their reactions. They believed in their strength and stuck to the game plan."

Meanwhile two-goal MK Dons midfielder Peter Leven commented :

"We started slow, but it is better to concede a goal early on than late on. We came back into it towards the end of the first half and we got the goal which helped us. Then we dominated the second half."
