Roberto Di Matteo spoke to his club's official website and BBC Three Counties Radio about his side's 3-2 defeat at Brunton Park this afternoon, Di Matteo suggesting that United scored scruffy goals in the game :

" In the first-half we played well, we created our chances very well, never looked like conceding anything. In the second-half, obviously the first goal in the first minute which is never good anyway, it gave them a bit of confidence and they sniffed that they could get back into the game. I'm quite angry because we've thrown the game away. We had a great first half, put ourselves in a fantastic position and then obviously threw it away in the second half.

" We thought that if we didn't concede in the first 15 to 20 minutes of the second-half then we could let the game calm down. Then I am sure that we could have had some more chances, but that is football, unfortunately things like that happen. We need to be focused for 94 minutes and we can't afford to not be concentrated just for one second because then you get punished.

" I think that we made some individual mistakes and some mistakes as a team, and also in the second-half they obviously threw a few bodies forward and scored a few scruffy goals. It is frustrating that Willy Gueret had nothing to do apart from that, even on the second goal he made a good save but the ball just then rolled in.

" The third goal was a deflection that he couldn't do anything about but it is just the way that sometimes a football game goes. Usually you don't have the luck on your side when the game goes the way it did. You have a good chance in the last minute, an open goal and it just doesn't go for you so it is one of those days. You can complain because it would have been the equaliser but we had enough chances to close the game before.

" We're all disappointed, players and staff, but every game is tough in this league, as we saw today. We just have to pick ourselves up, go to Peterborough and try to pick up some points there. I'll repeat it again, every game is a tough game, nothing is given and you'll keep seeing surprises in this division every week. We just have to keep going, look at every game and try to do our best. "
