New United signing Richard Offiong spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria this evening ahead of Carlisle's League One clash against Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium tomorrow, Offiong enjoying some rush hour traffic :

" We are still on the bus, we have been stuck in a bit of traffic but hopefully we will get there soon. It is a big relief to get the registration through this afternoon though, I just wanted to get here and get all signed off and hopefully be able to make an impression in tomorrow's game.

" It has been really good here, all the boys have been really good to me, they have just helped me out. I got to see the game on Wednesday and we were training today and I got to know the boys a little bit better, which was really good. It has been good, we have got a good team here, we have got a good blend of youth and some experience as well so the team is definitely going places.

" I found out about the interest late last weekend. As soon as I found out I was buzzing about it, I just wanted to get signed up as soon as possible. I was always dead set on joining, as soon as I found out Carlisle were interested I was really hopeful that it could go through. I don't really know what happened to delay it but I signed in the end and that was the main thing.

" I think that I got a bit stale at Hamilton and I needed a fresh challenge. Once I found out that Carlisle were interested I jumped at the chance. I don't see it as a drop in level, there are a lot of big clubs in this league and I don't think that it is a drop down at all. I know the league, I know the standard of League One and I wouldn't see it as a drop down at all.

" Hopefully I can be the man to get the goals, hopefully I can put a good shift in, get a few goals here and there and relieve some pressure on the team and make the fans happy again. I will try my hardest and hopefully that should be good enough, and I will able to bang the goals in this season.

" The more games you play the more experience comes and you get with that. I have definitely grown as a player since I first went up to Gretna. I have really improved my all-round game and my work-rate as well, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time up there.

" I haven't had any initiation yet here because it is still early but I am sure that it will come. I think that maybe one or two of us have got to do a song or do a speech in front of someone. I am not too sure what it is but I don't mind those things, I have done it before and I will do it again. I keep thinking about what song I am going to do but I don't want to give the surprise away so I will keep that one to myself. "
