Richard Keogh
United centre-half Richard Keogh spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey after Carlisle's 2-0 defeat at home to Leeds this afternoon, Keogh talking about making his permanent debut in United colours :

" Obviously we are disappointed, we feel like we were playing well. If you look at the chances today I don't think really that Ben (Williams) has had to make a save really, and we have conceded two goals. So there is a lot of disappointment in there because we feel like we should be getting something out of the game. At the end of the day though we are looking on the positive side. We are not gung-ho and we are not Fred Karno. We are a solid team and we are playing well but you have got to start picking up points and you have got to halt the runs when they come, hopefully that will start next week.

" No-one likes losing football games, especially with want we to achieve this season. Leeds obviously are a good side, they are going to be challenging like ourselves and Scunthorpe it looks like. We can take a lot of positives from those two games even though we have lost two games. I think that anyone who has watched the two games can see that we are going in the right direction and a lot of positives can come from the game.

" I think that we are going to go into the game at Walsall full of confidence the way we have been playing and I think that it is only right that we should be really. Obviously we are looking forward, we want to stop these runs as much as we can, we don't want to get on a three or four losing run streak, hopefully we will change that on Saturday.

" Set-pieces are a massive part of football, games can be won and lost on them. Their first goal today has come from a corner, I think that we were on top in the game at the time and we have conceded a goal like that. I think that it was Danny (Livesey's) man went around the back and he has headed down, the second ball, we have not reacted to the second ball and he (Luciano Becchio) has stuck it away there. Lads come in though and hold their hands up and say that it is their fault and the lads take it on the chin, and we just moved on as a group. "

" That is the good thing about this group, there is no-one wanting to shift the blame, if they feel that it is their man then they will hold their hand up and say that it was their fault or their man. That is the positive thing, because you don't want to have people trying to pass the blame onto people, then it starts getting the dressing-room all unrested. The lads here all respect each other, we all look out for each other and I think that it is a very good sign for staying together and picking up positive results.

" I was pleased with the way that I played, I have been working hard in training myself to wait for my chance. I have been working hard and football is one of those games, you never know when it might come and luckily for me it came today. I couldn't have chosen a better game to come into really but Murph (Peter Murphy) and the lads have been doing really well.

" It was unfortunate for Murph to pick up the injury because he was obviously looking forward to the game and he feels that he is doing well. From a selfish point of view though it was a great opportunity for me and I feel like I did well and hopefully I can stay in the team now and kick on from there.

" I think that being in and out of the side is football at the moment, especially at this club. We have got a fantastic squad, everyone is pushing each other and it can only be good for the football club. I was working hard in training and pushing Livesey and Murph and I think that is the only way that they would want it to be as well. If I wasn't doing my side of the job then they would probably be saying the same thing. Football is a funny game and you never know when your opportunity might come around, I have got in the team now and hopefully I can stay there.

" It would be fantastic if some of the fans came back. When you walk out and you hear the roar, especially when the team is doing well and they get on your side, it is a fantastic atmosphere. The Carlisle fans have been brilliant ever since I have been here, it is a great buzz every time I play at Brunton Park. It would be fantastic if they could keep following us, get behind the team and get behind everyone at the football club to help us push it in the right way. "
