Lincoln City manager Keith Alexander spoke exclusively to Lincoln City's Official Club Website about the game against Carlisle at Brunton Park on Tuesday night. Alexander talked about the fact that he thought his team should have earned at least at point, but that their inability to take their chances is costing them dear :

"We did okay but too many times this season we've conceded a sloppy goal. I'm disappointed to lose because I felt we did alright but we had an extra touch when we shouldn't, lost it in a silly area and it was a long ball down the middle which we should have dealt with comfortably.

"That's why they're the leaders as they get one chance and score. We've hit the crossbar and dominated at times without really being at our best but you can still get a draw in these games. I'm not being critical of the players as they've all done okay. But okay isn't good enough.

"Tom Wilkinson is a young lad and I like him. He's done a lot in the youth team and in the reserves and he's got ability to get past a player and put the ball in the box which is why I changed him for Franny (Francis Green) who, as far as I was concerned, didn't do enough.

"We say week in, week out that we create enough chances against good sides and if you don't take them you're going to struggle. That's what's happened to us tonight. We were very hard done to and I'm more disappointed today than I have been for some time because I think there was a point there for the taking at least.

"We can compete with anybody but you've still got to come to places like this and get a point at least. That's what we should have done. If you'd have looked at the games against Boston, Grimsby and Carlisle you would have taken three draws but we've got to be better than that. We've got to come to places like this and get something.

"I feel sorry for the supporters who have come a long way without seeing their team get a point so it means we've got to do something Saturday and get a win at Darlington."
