SkivertonGlovers manager Terry Skiverton spoke to BBC Radio Somerset and the Western Daily Press after his side's 1-0 League One win over Carlisle at Huish Park, Skiverton saying that the three points has put Yeovil in a stronger position in their bid to avoid the four relegation spots :

"I'm pleased with the result, I'm pleased with the results that have gone around, they seem to have gone for us, we have climbed a couple of places and we have roped a few more people in. There is still work to be done but it puts us in a stronger position. It wasn't the best of games tonight but it was an important win for us and we showed different characteristics in having to dig in there at the end. To be fair, I think all of our supporters know, give Jon Obika a chance like that and he will put it away, and it was a very good finish tonight.

"That is why I was desperate to get him back. The other clubs he was at, their loss is our gain. When he left Swindon and Tottenham called him back I was glad I was at that training match to bring him back here. (Spurs reserve team manager) Tim Sherwood deserves thanks for making it all happen and without him we would not be in this position with such a clinical finisher. We have been creating chances and not taking them. We did not create too many chances tonight but to take that one and keep a clean sheet was great.

"We had to make substitutions because Andy Welsh is more of a forward thinking wing-back, we had to put on Nathan Smith and Craig (Alcock) to play two games in the space of a week from being out for four months, so he was running on a little bit of empty. The changes we made sort of negated us going forward a little bit but it shored us up a little bit. We didn't envisage that the referee (Graham Horwood) was going to pull his calf and that there was going to be an extra seven minutes on top of that. So, we had to hang on, they sort of threw caution to the wind, we hit them on the break a couple of times with Andy Williams and if Jon Obika had headed it right he could have gone clean in for a one v one on the keeper (Adam Collin) and it didn't quite happen. But, we held out for a great result for us.

"Credit to Greg Abbott, he has done a fantastic job there, they have gone to Wembley twice in two years and for me it was a case of knowing that they wouldn't come here and think about their Wembley game. I think they came to give us a game of football, they did, lucky enough we came out winners tonight but they could have had a goal right there at the end if it wasn't for Hendo's (Stephen Henderson's) magnificent save to his right-hand side.

"I am only focusing really on tonight and it was a good result, it was an important result and it was one that we took the opportunity and we chose to take it. We didn't wait for anything to happen, it was a bit of a slow tempo start, I thought we needed to be a little bit more combative and competitive. But, in the second-half we seemed to have a little bit more legs than them leading up to the goal, and then when we got the goal we seemed to try to keep it rather than go on. I have been caught out trying to do that a few times and I would rather be that little bit negative and come out with a 1-0 win than trying to go for that second goal and being sucker-punched.

"The win gives us a little bit of comfort but the mindset is that Bristol Rovers will be saying on Saturday that they want the points more than us, Yeovil think they are safe and Yeovil minds aren't going to be on the game. Well, they will be, we know it is a local derby, it is going to be keenly contested and the referee is going to have his work cut out on Saturday, I know that, and he will need to be strong for both sides. It is a massive game, it is a massive West Country game and they have got to come here and get something out of the game."
