Valiants manager Micky Adams spoke to The Sentinel after his side's 4-3 penalty shootout Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, the visitors having two spot-kicks saved after the scores had finished level at 2-2 after 90 minutes :

" We transpired to lose a game we should have won. We were guilty of a bit of slack marking and it cost us. We're disappointed because we played a good side and showed our quality. When you're at a decent club everybody should know their jobs - so it doesn't matter how many changes you make. Sometimes people can make that excuse, but all the players know what's required of them. We just didn't do enough to see it through, which is disappointing.

" We have two quality keepers and Chris (Martin) can be pleased with his night's work. Our priority is the league, so we will pick ourselves up and get on with it. This game has given me food for thought, and we'll go to Hereford full of confidence. We proved what a good squad we have, so we can take a lot of positives out of the game. "
