Town manager Mark Cooper spoke to BBC Radio Wiltshire after his side's 1-0 League One defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Cooper bemoaning the finishing power of the Robins:

“I think if Gary Madine plays for us then we win the game comfortably. We were perfect from back to front but we didn’t threaten the goal enough. I think to create chances you have to be able to get hold of the ball. We have got to keep going now, we can’t really change it too much. In the second-half I thought we played well, we had a lot of possession, we had them camped in for long periods and we should have got something out of the game.

“We had chances at the start of the second-half, real good chances that need to go and if they go in then you win the game. But, we didn’t. We had two one on ones against the goalkeeper [Jordan Pickford], the first one Michael Smith could probably have a touch and roll it past him and I think the second one if Alex squares it Michael has got an open goal. So, the wrong selection and the wrong finish.

“But, I was pleased with most parts of the game, I thought we dominated possession, but you are only as good as your front players. We usually totally dominate the possession, like we did again today, but we didn’t finish it off. There won’t be anyone coming in because the transfer window is shut, but we have to make sure we are right for next week.

“The good parts of the game were that we totally dominated the possession, I think if you probably asked the Carlisle players they have not done as much running as that in a game chasing the ball. But, you have to put the ball in the back of the net, we should have defended better for the goal. It is frustrating because in my opinion we should have got something out of the game.

“Massimo Luongo did OK but he has had a tight calf and he has not done a lot since the last few games. But, listen, the only problem for me is at the front end of the pitch. It was difficult to put Alex Pritchard straight back in when we had won three games, the lads have scored and done well. But, at half-time we felt that we needed a little bit more drive.

“We kept the ball well, we didn’t really create anything, so we gave him the drive, we made two early substitutions and I thought that worked and we totally dominated the second-half. You are always confident when you have people like Alex in the team that you can come up with a goal. Nathan Byrne has had a great effort that is going in and gets blocked, but we have to be better in the final third.

“The final objective now is to win the last five games and get in the play-offs, they have been the aim all along. It doesn’t matter what order they come in, we keep going. I have said all along that I am not worried about favours and everybody else, we have just got to do what we need to do. We need to win games and we haven’t won one today, but I thought the supporters were fantastic today so I thank them for their support on a very, very long trip and I thought the performance was OK.”
