Town manager Danny Wilson spoke to BBC Radio Wiltshire and the Swindon Advertiser after his side's 0-0 draw against Carlisle at Brunton Park, Wilson disappointed that the Robins missed so many good chances late in the game :

" Well you sometimes get half-chances and you sometimes get little bits of scrambles that you would say are also half-chances if you like. But, we have had four great chances really haven't we, maybe five if you can take the first-half into consideration, but, in saying that we haven't finished them off, and that is always the difference.

" Again, the positive, coming to Carlisle who are unbeaten at this moment in time, a tough place as we found out in the early part of the game when they put us under a lot of pressure.

" They had quite a lot of corners against us but I thought really David (Lucas) has not really had one save to make all the game quite honestly. So, we have carved the best chances out, and particularly as the game went on in the second-half I thought we opened ourselves up and played much better football.

" We are disappointed, of course we are, we have had good chances, but again, the other side of it has been more of my concern. It has been the clean sheets, that has always been a concern and now we have had two on the belt against two very strong attacking teams. So, the back four in the two games can take a lot out of that in fairness to them.

" Yes, we are going to get chances and in normal circumstances Charlie (Austin) would take your chances. So, we are not going to be critical, on another day he will bury those. Maybe a little bit too much time to think about it, was that a problem? I don't know, but certainly they were good chances and he will be disappointed, but we are not disappointed with him because he gets in good areas.

" Strikers are disappointed when they don't get opportunities or don't take opportunities when they come around. So, he will be disappointed but he will get over it soon, he will be chomping away to make up for it next week. "

" We had to be solid today, we knew how they played, we matched them up in the formation because we didn't at any time want to get over-run in midfield. I don't think we were at all, I think we combated that very well. In the first-half their full-backs (Sean McDaid and Frank Simek) got in a couple of times in areas where it may have caused us a problem, but we defended well against them.

" But, then as the game went on I thought we took control of it and certainly by the chances, good chances and good interplay. Little David Ball came on and he was a livewire and he caused the back four a different problem from what Vinnie (Vincent Pericard) did, so it was good in that respect.

" Near the end David has got in between the defenders which he is brilliant at, that is what he does, but he just didn't quite get enough on the ball. He has lifted it over the keeper (Adam Collin) and I think it was (Lubomir) Michalik who has got back and cleared it off the line. So, it didn't really have enough power and pace to take it over the line.

" Maybe that was what the problem was for us today, we didn't just have that little bit of quality right at the end. JP (Jon-Paul McGovern) goes through and he doesn't just find David Ball again with an over-weighted pass, and that was the thing that stuck out a little bit today.

" We brought Alan Sheehan on because he has got a fantastic technique and we felt that as the game went on that was the area that we could start to play. Because the wider areas, there was a lot of congestion in midfield and we wanted the full-backs to push on and have that little bit of quality.

" I think that sums everything up when you see Alan Sheehan's ball into David Ball and the flick was absolutely fantastic, so that is the type of thing you get from Alan Sheehan. We didn't feel that we had any threat from the wide areas against us, apart from when the full-backs coming on, so we were OK there. "

" What we wanted was to get on the ball in the deeper areas, and I thought our full-backs did very well today at times. Even Callum (Kennedy) at certain times did well, when he settled down after an initial shaky period he did well.

" You have got to start from somewhere, you have got to start from a solid foundation, and that is what we have done today. We did brilliantly at Southampton, and today was defensively very good. We set our foundations in the early part of the game, we were difficult to break down which is what we need.

" If we are going to progress then clean sheets are what is going to make us successful. So, I thought the back four and in particular the back two were immense today. They headed everything, they blocked everything, they have covered their ground very, very well and David has not had one save to make.

" Of course we've done work on the training ground, but at the same time it's pitch-time and togetherness. The more Sean (Morrison) and Scott (Cuthbert) play together, the more understanding they are having so long may that continue.

" They are setting up a very good partnership there, and it's nice for them that the standard is getting better and better. You can only get that by pitch-time. You can replicate certain things in training, but not decision-making in an atmosphere like this."

" Simon Ferry had a lot of energy and I think we got to see Dougie (Jonathan Douglas) coming back to himself in that second-half. Where he gets in front of people and nicks ball, he sets the ball rolling, he gets a good position where he is always available and that is the area that we feel when we are functioning well then that area is the one that gets us ticking. Simon was full of energy as well, and terrific, that is what he gives you. "

Meanwhile Robins centre-half Scott Cuthbert told the Swindon Advertiser :

" Coming up here with the run Carlisle are on it was always going to be tough. They've scored a lot of goals and got some good wins, so I would say it's a point picked up. We've conceded a lot of goals coming into this game but got a clean sheet on Tuesday and looked really solid again, I don't think Dave (Lucas) had a save to make.

" The game was full of positives and I'm delighted with that. On another day at the end the ball wouldn't have bobbled, he (Charlie Austin) would have put it away and we'd have won the game. "
