Walsall manager Chris Hutchings spoke to his club's official website and the Express and Star after his side's 2-1 win at home to Carlisle, Hutchings understandably happy after the bottom of the table Saddlers picked up a rare win :

" We changed things around and it came up trumps today. It was a very good team performance where we worked extremely hard and showed people what we can do. Now we have to make sure that we do it time and time again. We have discussed the importance of set-plays.

" They scored against the run of play to take the lead, but Matt (Richards) has popped up with two excellent set-plays that we have worked on in training. It shows that you can win games from these situations, but also you can lose them if people don't pick up correctly.

" It was all about hard work today. We've had a heart-to-heart with the lads and they have responded; the challenge now is to do it again at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday evening. Winning breeds confidence; it's all about belief and mental strength and each one of my players showed that today. We had 11 leaders out there. If we show the same application in the next game, we can go to Hillsborough and get something, I have no doubt about that.

" We know that we can do it and we look forward to the next game coming around. I must also show my appreciation for the backing that we received from the supporters today. I was delighted that we were able to give them something to shout about. We're at the bottom and fighting for our lives, we changed it around a little bit and whether that had something to do with it who knows but we're delighted. I'm very pleased with the performance and result, especially after going a goal down.

" We showed great character and resilience with some good play. It was a team performance, we don't want to pick anyone out. There were some very good performances, Andy (Butler) has got excellent experience and knows how to play. He kept us on a decent line and I was pleased for Oliver Lancashire too. They were excellent.

" We've to be a little bit sharper at the end of a game. It's always nervy, they threw caution to the wind and it's always harem-scarum. Carlisle are a good side and put us under pressure. They got it forward quickly at the death and when you're chasing the game that's what you end up doing. "
