Rovers boss Paul Trollope
Pirates manager Paul Trollope spoke to his club's official website after his side's 1-1 draw at home to Carlisle, Trollope saying that not getting a second goal cost Rovers the win :

" There was a lot of good stuff, I thought the players performed to a good level, and the crowd responded to that. I think that is as positive as we have been at home, there was a good energy about us, we produced some good play and put our bodies on the line defending when we had to. What cost us was we didn't get the second goal when we probably deserved it.

" We had a number of good chances to get the second, but we didn't manage to get it and it was a farcical end to the game that we survived to take a point. When we are in that kind of mood we need to be taking three points, and we are disappointed. There were some good bits and pieces in the first half, they had a few attacks as well, most of which came from free kicks, which allowed them to pump balls in our box.

" From open play we felt very little threat. We kept the tempo and increased the edge to us. There was a hunger and a desire about the group, but you need to win those games when you are on top like that. We felt we were worthy of three points, but we didn't get it, and you don't always get what you deserve, sometimes it works the other way.

" We need to be more clinical, there are no two ways about that. When you are on top in games, you need to take the chances to score the goals you deserve. Hopefully we will have a little bit of time to work today and do some bits and pieces to try to get that confidence in front of goal. "

" Carlisle were getting it forward early, and we were coping pretty well, but on that occasion the recovery runs were not quite right and the forward managed to find a bit of space, which was frustrating. Apart from a few long range efforts, one that got deflected and hit the bar, we had limited them to few chances.

" They were dangerous on the counter attack, we knew that, they have got pace and a bit of quality about them, but from our point of view, when we were one up and we had a lot of ball, at times we didn't use it as well as we could have. We were trying difficult things rather than doing the basics which would have controlled the game better, and we gave them a few lifts after we scored.

" We still feel we did enough in our forward play to have got a second goal, it is frustrating to be sat here not talking about a win, but with the penalty incident it could have been worse. I am not going to talk about the decision, but Gary Sawyer is as honest a pro as we have in the dressing room, and he is certain the ball didn't touch his hand.

" It was the decision that was given, and Mikkel produced a fantastic save, which he has done on a number of occasions from open play and from the spot of late. We were pleased as it looked like we were looking at an impossible result, considering where we were in the middle of the second half. He gave us a boost when we were staring at a defeat that would have been a remarkable result for them.

" Mikkel is getting a good record on those now, which is handy. He is fully committed to us, despite being on loan, you can see that in his performances and how he is with the players and the fans, we are delighted with him. He is a loud character and he is always buoyant, but he is a driven boy and he knows where he is going and where he wants to be. We are fortunate to have had his services last year, pleased he is back with us and hopefully he will be with us in the second half of the season as well. "

Meanwhile Gas goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen commented to the Evening Post on his injury time penalty save from Gary Madine :

" When you hear the fans chanting your name like that, it gives you a boost and I think it also puts a bit of pressure on the penalty-taker. I don't think they really expect you to save it, but they believe you might have a chance - and when they give you their support like that, it gives you a lift. I hadn't decided beforehand which way to go. It was just instinct.

" But when you do go, you have to do it at full speed and not hold anything back. It was a good penalty but I managed to get a hand on it. I was just disappointed I didn't hold on to it first time - but it was a relief nobody else was around, so I could pick it up. "
