Latics manager Paul Dickov spoke to his club's official website after his side's 3-1 League One defeat against Carlisle at Brunton Park tonight, Dickov saying Oldham got what they deserved:

"It was really disappointing and we got what we deserved, we didn't turn up at all tonight. We had warned the players about it beforehand and at half-time, we weren't playing well at all, and we got what we deserved, which was nothing. Nothing clicked tonight, I thought young Chris Sutherland when he came on did well, big Matt (Smith) put himself about but not a lot of people came out with credit tonight, not with the standards they have set themselves recently.

"It is not confidence dropping, if anything it is over-confidence, I think as a group of players they went out tonight expecting to win the game, which there is nothing wrong with but in every game you play you have to fight for the right. I spoke to them about it before the game that yes our recent performances have come because we have played good football, but because of our attitude and desire without the ball, and we didn't see that tonight.

"Chris Sutherland has got fantastic youthful enthusiasm about him, he is quick and he is direct and he did well when he came on. Cliff Byrne is disappointed with the first goal and all three goals were individual errors, it seems a bit like deja vu going back to the start of the season. We are at our best when we play high tempo football and we didn't get that tonight, it is not good enough.

"I would like to apologise to the fans because for a Tuesday night and the run we have been on there was a really good turnout tonight and they didn't get a performance. The players know how I feel, there are not a lot of them come out with a lot of credit tonight, but give Carlisle credit, they played well.

"We knew coming up here that it was going to be tough. For whatever reason, I thought we were very flat-footed and lethargic. The desire and the workrate to win football matches that we've had didn't seem there tonight. When you're not playing well, it's important that you grind out a result. We were thinking it had 0-0 written all over it, but individual errors cost us for all three goals.

"We have to go on another run, we know we are capable of it, we know we have got the players who are capable of it and there are a few of them hurting tonight, so we go again. It was a poor performance after some really good ones and now what we have got to do is get back on track. It is disappointing because we were playing ever so well and we were playing with a lot of desire and a lot of enthusiasm, and I didn't see that tonight."
