Hartlepool striker Roy O'Donovan spoke to BBC Radio Tees after his side's 4-1 win over Carlisle at Victoria Park this evening, Sunderland-loanee O'Donovan happy to make his 'Pools debut in a resounding victory :

" Very pleased, it was a fantastic result for the club tonight and I am glad to be part of it. I will take it every game at a time here but after tonight's result hopefully I can stay in for Saturday now and that is the next goal and hopefully we can get a result. But tonight was a fantastic result, a good performance by the lads and I am very pleased to be a part of it.

" The Irish mafia is here so it is good to be a part of that as well. I think that has helped me settle in a lot quicker than I probably would have done. The fact that there are a lot of Irish lads here and a lot of guys I have played with in the past, Peter Hartley as well at Sunderland, so that has been nice. But I think everyone has been fantastic as well so hopefully if we keep getting results, things will get better and people will be in great spirits all season long.

" Adam Boyd and James Brown are obviously two excellent players, I knew about them before I came here, they are obviously different kinds of players. I think Boydy likes to drop off into the hole as such and get on the ball and make things happen that way. Then Browny likes to run the channels and be a goal threat and obviously I am a bit different, whereas my game is more on pace and trying to get in behind defences.

" Then you have got Dennis (Behan) the cannonball kid who can turn on a sixpence and he is like a rocket. But there are so many different kinds of strikers, I know Chris (Turner) is going to have a bit of a headache now because I am sure with me coming a lot of the players are going to be pushing hard to get back in the team.

" But it is all part of football and it is a fantastic bunch and I am just glad to be part of it at the moment. Once we are winning games that is the nicest headache he could have but that is football. As long as we keep winning games everyone is going to be happy.

" It is a great standard for me at the moment with not having played much, usually my Saturday has been shopping with the missus lately, so it is a lot better standard than that. But it was a fantastic game tonight, it was good for me to start getting a bit of fitness back and I think in the next three or four games now I can start getting back to 100%, so that is the goal.

" I am sure that Millwall will be an intimidating place to go next, and their fans will be baying for blood from what I hear. But it is going to be a tough game, we are going to go into it with confidence from tonight's result, and Millwall are hopefully going to have a game on their hands and that is all you can ask, give 100% down there and hopefully get a result. "
