Blues striker Danny Graham
United striker Danny Graham spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey after Carlisle's 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe at Brunton Park, Graham pleased with a better performance than in the Tuesday night defeat against Leyton Orient :

" It certainly was tough, I think that we owed the fans a performance after Tuesday night, everyone was very disappointed after that defeat. We came into this game against Scunthorpe, they are doing really well obviously, just outside the play-offs or in the play-offs, I am not too sure. I think that we got a good result in the end though at 1-1, and I think that most of the results went our way so it is another point towards safety.

" I think that a draw was a fair reflection of the game to be honest. We have started really well, we have got the goal through Joe (Anyinsah), which was pleasing, and we managed to hang on until half-time. They had a good chance with Gary Hooper but Ben (Williams) has done brilliantly to save it and keep us in the game. Then in the second-half they have got the wind and we defended well, so I think that a lot of credit has to go to the lads and I think that a draw was a positive result considering how we played on Tuesday.

" Everything is fine for me, obviously I played the full game and I played a half on Tuesday night. So the fitness is fine and hopefully we can push on now and get some more points on the board. We have got a few niggles, Murph (Peter Murphy) is struggling with a bad back and Thirs (Paul Thirlwell) has got a bad knee but we have got a week off now. We will relax over the course of the week and get back on the training ground and try to improve and get some more points.

" I think that every away game is a local derby probably from Carlisle, but that point today can only breed confidence throughout the team. We will go to Southend, we will give it 110% and see if we can get some more points. I am a strong believer that the goals will come for me, at the minute I am not scoring goals but there are goals going in from other players and other areas of the field, which is pleasing.

" It is a team game though, it is not all about me scoring and if I am not scoring then I just want to work as hard as I can for the team and play as well as I can. My contract situation is just ongoing, there has been a lot of talk between me and the gaffer (Greg Abbott) so that is the situation, it is just ongoing at the minute. "

Meanwhile United goalscorer Joe Anyinsah commented :

" To be honest the lads were asking me about the goal but I can't really remember where it even hit me to be honest. I am guessing that it was off my thigh or something, it was a great ball in from Lewis Neal from the corner and I just wanted to get any connection that I could and thankfully it went in.

" They (Scunthorpe) are not in the position they are for no reason you know, they are a good team. They put up a bit of pressure for us but I thought that the lads at the back were tremendous today. They really defended really well and with a lot of courage and bravery. It was disappointing on Tuesday night and everyone really rolled up their sleeves today. We are pleased with a point, we will take that rather than nothing at all.

" I think that I have got four goals at the moment which is not bad but to be honest I would have taken three points rather than me scoring today because that it is how it is, we need points at the moment. I think that it was a good point for us though and hopefully we can push on for next weekend.

" It has been a bit of a hectic schedule so far and it is nice for us to have a little rest and recoup and get some work done on the training ground as well. We want to finish the season strong, get ourselves as high as possible. I think that if we keep putting in performances like that, battling performances, then I am sure that goals will come and we will start getting results.

" There was a bit of a heart in mouth moment at the end (when Liam Trotter missed) but thankfully we got a bit of luck, it has gone for us. That is the sort of thing that we need really coming into the last few games of the season. "
