Addicks boss Phil Parkinson spoke to BBC London 94.9 and his club's official website after his side's seesaw 4-3 victory over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Parkinson not at all happy with the performance of referee Scott Mathieson in the game :

" We were coasting really and I felt when we got the third goal that we started to believe that we had done it, and you've never done it in football. Especially when we had a referee today who I normally like, but I thought he was their best player for 20 minutes in the second-half, he gave them absolutely every decision and every free-kick. But, I suppose you have got to contend with that away from home.

" It was a fantastic result for us, a great last minute goal, a great response for the majority of the game from the boys after what happened last week. Because, last week was a dent in confidence when you get beat 4-0 at home, I could sense it in training this week, the effort was there but I could see a real knock in confidence.

" When Carlisle got back in the game you could see that but at least we had another gear to go up again and go and win the game. It was absolutely terrific from the lads and I have got a lot of belief in the players here, and we have shown it today as we have scored four goals away from home. We have got players that we need to work harder to keep clean sheets but we will do that. "

" In the second-half with the 12 players Carlisle had with the referee, it made it difficult for us but equally we dropped deep and we didn't have enough pressure on the ball higher up the pitch. We allowed too many balls to come in our box as well, so it is great to be able to discuss those things in the dressing-room after winning.

" But, we have got to be tighter, we have got to stop crosses coming in, because when we go forward, you saw Benno (Paul Benson) today and Joe Anyinsah who I thought were outstanding. Joe scored in the first-half, nowhere near offside, so we should have had five goals as well.

" You look for a response, though. Once it's gone to 3-3, you can't do anything about the goals that have gone in. You just have to get the boys to play in the manner in which they had started the game, and started the second-half. To be fair, we did that and got back in it.

" Scott Wagstaff, for the last 15 minutes, was absolutely outstanding down the right-hand side. When everyone else is getting tired, he is the sort of player that just finds another gear and I thought Scott's energy got us back in the game. It was a great set-piece delivery and a fantastic header from Benno. "

" It's been a tough week. We analyse everything and looked at last week and said that game had gone and this was a new start for us. We were starting the season again today, and it was good to start with three points. It's nice to go home tonight and enjoy the weekend with the family. Any manager will tell you that when you lose, especially in the manner we lost last week, it ruins the whole weekend.

" It means a lot to our supporters, and let me tell you it means a lot to the manager and the players and everyone else because it is our livelihood; it's our life. I have to stand there and take the criticism. We took it on the chin and we accepted the criticism last week. Now as a club we hope to take that fight into next week against Sheffield Wednesday.

" The highlight of it for me and the lads were the supporters who came all the way up to support us today because I thought they were absolutely terrific. Even when it came back to 3-3, they kept believing we would get back into it, so credit to them. I hope they have a really good journey back having seen a really spirited and entertaining game. "
