Clarets manager Sean Dyche spoke to his club's official website after his side's 4-1 pre-season victory over Carlisle at Brunton Park, Dyche pleased with the way Burnley got their goals:

“Goals can come in many different ways and there were four today that were all exceptional goals in different ways. There were really good signs in that first half. There was a learning curve for around 15 minutes in that second half when they put us on the back foot a little bit, albeit without opening us up.

“We are trying to build on performances. The main thing I insist on is getting players fit and well for the first game of the season, but it does help when you start showing signs of what you expect and that is good quality, flowing football with a solid framework but the freedom to express yourself. There were some really good signs of that today and in Cork, but here it was against a league club with a good manager who gets his troops prepared properly, so this was a good sign of what is to come.”
