Town boss Colin Calderwood, who was speaking exclusively to Northampton's official club website, www.ntfc.co.uk, talks about the result tonight and what it means for the Cobblers on the automatic promotion run-in. He also spoke about how the game went for the home side and mused on how many points would be needed to finish in the top three :

"The result was very harsh on us and it is a real slap in the face. Everyone is down about the result but I would not change too much about our first half performance. If there was a lack of ability, passion or creativity I would be worried but we battered them for half of the game although of course the result went against us. We need to bounce back as we have done on other occasions this season.

"We had a bit of a mix up and ended up a goal down in the first half. It was difficult with the wind against us in the second half and when they got their second goal that made it very hard for us. We had enough shots and enough crosses and on another night we would have scored a number of goals.

"We paid for some individual errors tonight. Lee Harper has held his hands up to the third goal but as always it is a collective thing. The gap at the top is obviously a bit bigger now but anyone just looking at the result would get the wrong impression about the game. I am sure we can catch Carlisle and the other teams in the top three."

"We give Carlisle a large amount of credit but I will back us against them or anyone else in this league. Ian Taylor has gone for an X-ray on his arm and will know more after the weekend. We hope it is not broken but he is in a lot of pain. Even though it might be broken he tried to continue and showed a lot of bravery.

"80 or 81 points would have got you promoted last year and that is the sort of target we are aiming for this season. Six wins will take us close, because I am sure we would pick up at least a couple of draws in the other four games. We want to get as many points as possible in the next four games to give us a little breathing space in the last five matches.

"I am still very confident we will win automatic promotion. We have lost to a team above us but I know there will be a reaction and the boys are determined to see the job through. We might lose Ian Taylor for a few weeks but we have Josh Low, David Rowson and Pedj Bojic to come in - we have strength in depth and if we have an atmosphere in the remaining four home games like we did tonight we have a great chance.

"We will lick our wounds. We know this is a set back but there is still a lot of football to be played. We need to get back to being dogged and determined and I am sure we will end up where we want to be."
