Peter Murphy
United defender Peter Murphy spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Friday morning as he talked about the upcoming game at Southend tomorrow afternoon, Murphy talking about his comeback from injury and the prospect of meeting his old team-mate Richie Foran at Roots Hall :

" It's a good start, I think if you look behind us though there are a couple of teams that have games in hand so you can't get too excited because we could drop down to sixth or whatever. It is a good start though, I think that last year our away form wasn't very good and we still made eighth in the league. So we've started very well away and at home so hopefully we can just keep it going.

" They are all big games coming up but I think the games that we have just been through as well, we've played Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday which was a tough five games and we've come through that pretty well. So we're just looking ahead to the run of games that we have got, and they are very tough games you have got to admit it.

" We feel confident though that we can get something out of them, we don't think that it is going to be like Millwall and 4-0. They don't come very often so they are going to be very hard battles and we'll see what we can get out of them.

" I'll meet him (Richie Foran) definitely, he's going to be down there but he hasn't been playing, he's only been coming on as a substitute. Because I think that they have got a lad called Leon Clarke who is on loan from Sheffield Wednesday that is flying so he's going to be one to look out for. I'll be looking forward to seeing Richie and having a bit of crack and banter with him and seeing what he's up too. "

" He's been playing on the right-side in a right-wing sort of area but he's not a winger. He's been playing right centre-forward though in a three or something like that. I'll still be probably up against him, he'll probably run over and try to hit me or something, it'll be good.

" My season has only started about four games ago because in the first game of the season I was out for a month and then you've got to try to get yourself back into it. I've had four or five games now, you just feel like you are getting right still, still doing extra little bits and pieces for myself to make myself a little bit fitter. Just to try to get back up to speed, I probably am but you just feel yourself that you want to do a little bit more.

" Hopefully we can just kick on though and keep doing well with the team. Nobody wants to drop out of the team, it will be like Paul Thirlwell now, he'll be sitting there with his niggly little calf injuries and he'd love to be playing. I think also though, I've been talking to Simon Hackney when he had the year out, Simon took that year out, did a lot of weights and got a lot stronger. He's not as slight as he was and he's gained the benefit for it now.

" When you are out and you are not playing football you look forward to getting back and you are raring to go. It's shown that with Simon Hackney now, so I think that there are two ways you can look at an injury. You can either sulk or you can look at it as a blessing in disguise that you can get fitter and come back stronger. "
