United skipper Paul Thirlwell spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey this evening after Carlisle's 4-1 home win over Yeovil, Thirlwell saying that the Blues played far much better after the interval :

" To be fair we were a tad disappointed with our performance at half-time, we felt that we didn't really get started. Albeit we were level at the break, Danny (Graham) has come up trumps again with a good poachers finish. Again though, on the basis that I think Danny has had a couple of good chances, we've had chances here and there in the first-half.

" We set ourselves high standards though and we didn't feel that we met them in the first-half. So I wouldn't say that we got a bollocking but we got a little reminder that we are better than that. Then to be fair we came out in the second-half and I think that we dominated the entire half really.

" We haven't got the divine right just to turn up here on the back of the good home record that we have got and just roll teams over. No-one is going to come up and let us do that, different teams are going to come up here with different plans. They sat a lad just in front of the back four, Marc Bircham, and it made it quite difficult at times.

" We had to make sure that we got the ball wide but more importantly we got it wide quick and we didn't labour on things and pass slowly. In the first-half we did that a little bit but in the second-half we felt that we got it out wide to Cleve (Cleveland Taylor) and Si (Simon Hackney) quick and early. They managed to get at full-backs, crosses started coming in the box and then inevitably we started getting some goals.

" Danny has proven over the 18 months or so that he has been here that he is a top class striker at this level. He is banging the goals in regularly and when he is full of confidence there are not many better strikers in this league. It's great for Gaz (Gary Madine) to come on, he always works hard and gives 100% but he'll have been itching to get that goal and thankfully it has come today.

" It's brilliant for me, my role isn't as exciting as most but obviously it is nice to see Danny and the rest of the lads popping them in. I'm just pleased to be out there, it was a nightmare year last year for everyone concerned, my family probably got it the most, the wife got nagged quite a bit.

" I can relate to Chris Lumsdon massively, he is going to have a frustrating spell on the sidelines but you have just got to try to keep in and around the lads and stay as bubbly as you possibly can. The lads are great around you, we have a good laugh and rally together and whoever has got the shirt on a Saturday we get behind each other. "
