Carlisle skipper Paul Thirlwell spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria's Derek Lacey on Saturday evening as he gave his opinion on the Cumbrians excellent 2-0 victory at Huddersfield this afternoon :

" In the first-half as always away from home you want to set your stall out and not concede in the first 15-20 minutes. I think we did that and we were on top, then after that for the rest of the first-half I thought that we thoroughly dominated the game, got the two goals and possibly should have had more.

" I think it's critical, when you are playing so well that's the time that you have to score goals. Last week we did it when we weren't playing well and we scored goals and this week it was nice to put a performance together and compliment that with a result.

" He (Danny Livesey) was ecstatic, he let off a big scream when he scored, I was stood right next to him. He's quite prolific in those six-yard areas so I'm really pleased for him. The lads are great, they don't need much rallying up, the squad that we have got together with Greg (Abbott) and Dennis (Booth) have got a great thing going at the minute. We just want to keep on this good roll that we are on and keep getting positive results.

" It was a great ball in from Bridgey (Marc Bridge-Wilkinson), we've worked on set-pieces and getting across the first man. I think as everyone knows Joe (Garner) is excellent in the air, he's not the tallest lad in the world but he doesn't half rise, he got across his man and a great header into the roof of the net.

" The fans were outstanding and we felt like we had won the league at the end of the game and during it, they were great again though as they always are travelling and at home. I think in the second-half while something to work on we didn't pass as well we could have done possibly at times. That allowed them a little bit of pressure but when you have got the likes of Luke Beckett and Andy Booth upfront when balls are coming into your box it's hard to defend. The lads were brilliant though and again it's another clean sheet, that's three in a row now.

" There is no easy start in this league and we haven't had one either so we were under no illusions that it was going to be difficult. We've gone out there, not played to our best at times, I think obviously last week was a contrast to this week, it was a grinding display and we won, this week it was a good footballing display and we won again. So that's the thing we have to get right this year, you can't play pretty all the time and you just have to grind out results.

" I think it will be the same intensity against Coventry, Greg won't allow that, Greg wants to win every game as we do. I think when you are on the roll that we are on, albeit a short one, good results breed confidence and you want to continue that with another positive result on Tuesday. "
